The TAURUS KEPD 350 missile was shown on static display together with Saab’s Gripen E fighter, at the Kauhava Airshow, that took place 28 to 30 of August in Finland.
The Airshow is one of the largest airshows in 2020 that was organized despite the uncertainties caused by COVID crisis, and Saab was unrivaled in the visibility and presence, with the TAURUS missile as one of the attractions on display.
During the weekend some 15 000 visitors were able to take a closer look at two TAURUS missiles loaded onto a Gripen E, see photo.
Finland is an important market for TAURUS through competing in the Finnish fighter replacement procurement program as air-to-ground stand-off missile option for the Gripen E/F fighter.
TAURUS KEPD 350 is a modular stand-off missile system for precision strikes. The KEPD 350 missile has been designed and developed to fly through dense air defenses at a very low terrain-following level and for the engagement of high-value targets. The missile contains a highly effective dual stage warhead system, which combines excellent penetration capabilities for hard and deeply buried targets with blast-and-fragmentation capabilities against point and area targets.
